In this article we will discuss about an error that ususally occured while uploading image or document to document library. The full error message is "The installed virus scanner is currently unavailable. If the problem persists, contact your administrator".

Solution:
Follow below steps to resolve these error.
Step-1:
Open central administration then from the left hand side click on Security. From the Security page, From the General Security click on Manage antivirus settings as shown in the figure below.
Step-2:
Then from the Antivirus settings page, uncheck Scan documents on upload and click on OK as shown in the figure.
Now try uploading the document, the error will not come again. But this is not a recommended approach.
